Advice about fertility.

I am just looking for anyone who has some experience or information about fertility. I plan to have a family in the next 2-3 years, when my partner and I are financially ready, but I worry about my fertility. I am 23 and have stage 2 endo and have had 2 laps where they lasered away endo in the last 3 years.

I am still experiencing pain, on amitriptyline and I'm currently awaiting another gyne appointment, any advice or information anyone has would be greatly appreciated! :)

I've got endo and had my lap December 2012. Pain has gotten worse unfortunately, I've been trying to get pregnant for 1 yr 7 months now and still no joy, I went to the fertility clinic last week and they had taken my blood and got a sperm sample off my partner. If results are good and I'm ovulating I have to give smoking up for 6 months straight then I will start artifical insemination and u get 4 chances. They explained my endo pain will increase and it will be like going through the change so it will b very tough and you have to inject urself twice a day. If I'm not ovulating I will be put on meds ASAP to start me. U need to meet the criteria for these treatments ie weight, healthy diet, not smoking etc et . It's hard because I have a choice either suffer and loose my job while trying for baby or give up and be put on meds to help endo which then I couldn't try for baby!!!!!

It's a stressful road so make sure your physically and mentally prepared when you do decide to try or seek help for fertility.

They like u to try for at least 1 1/2 to 2 years first, xxx

I've got Endo and it has severely affected I'm fertility, I had IVF about 4 years ago which unfortunately didn't work. At the time on the NHS you could only have one attempt in Wales, but now its two, it really is a postcode lottery as when I lived in London, in the borough I lived in you could have 3 attempts but you had to be over 27, so it is well worth doing some research also on where the best unit is to have it done.

I would also suggest you do some research on the side effects of the medication you inject yourself with, don't let it scare you but its important to know what to expect, going through IVF is very trying both physically and emotionally and its helpful to be prepared.

Also injecting yourself daily is nasty, even if you are not scared of needles, it took me an hour to do it the first day, just something wrong about doing it to yourself! I would also suggest you set a limit, it is very normal to want to try again and again if it doesn't work which can obviously be very costly and cause enormous pressure.

Very best of luck! Xx
