I wondered if there was a link between endometriosis and fibromyalgia?
I've ben waking up in pain, aching all over, back, knees, neck... for about three weeks. At first I thought I was sleeping uncomfortably but after three weeks I'm wondering if it's something more.
I've often read that the two conditions are comorbid and often present in tandem. After my endo diagnosis I confided in my aunt who was never able to have her own children (we're going through infertility treatment hence my diagnosis) and she told me that she had a hysterectomy at 32 due to endo and has suffered from fibromyalgia for the last 20 odd years. Have you been to see your doctor yet?
No, I haven't been to see my GP yet. To be honest, he's not great. I find it difficult to say anything to him once, I was on co-dydramol for pain and he told me I couldn't have anything stronger... That "there was nothing he could do."

Change gp!!! I'm in the process of researching new surgeries in my area and have heard some great things about a surgery up the road from my current one, so I'm ditching the old ones (who told me years ago I was a hypochondriac) and going in search of a gynae and fertility sympathetic surgery that actually give a s##t!
Some doctors believe that fibromyalgia is a symptom of underactive thyroid. Have you been check out for this? Go over to the ThyroidUK Healthunlocked website and see if the people on there can help you. You might not have an underactive thyroid but it's worth looking into yourself in case your doctors have missed it - as many do. The blood tests are not very sensitive. Hope this is helpful to you. I had an underactive thyriod from about June to October of last year and then it went back up to normal ranges again randomly. Thanks, Diamond, I'll try that. x.

What I have learnt is that within range does not necessarily mean normal. What is important is how you feel. Did they give you any thyroxine for it at the time? Best thing to do then is get a copy of your blood results from your GP surgery and post them on the ThyroidUK forum (if you have any problems getting them, please see here for more info: thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/NHS_In... ) x
