Is it right that if Zoladex doesn't work then it isn't Gynae related?

of course not, it might just not work for you. I take tablets to stop my period for 6 months at a time but I still get pain from all the scarring the endo and infections have left behind. I've heard a lot of women with endo say that zoladex didn't work for them but something else has. xx

It's just that my doctor has said if I don't see any improvement then they will send me down the route of bowel/bladder problem because some of my symptoms are bowel bladder related. So stressed with it all. But its nice to come on here and get advice, all i want is a proper diagnosis and hoping its not going to take the average 8 years to get answers to my pain.

Hi - in all honesty I think the fact that your doctor does not seem to know that endo can cause bowel and bladder problems, just goes to show they are not an expert in endo and you need to ask to see an endo specialist consultant.

All best wishes x

hi,

the injections didnt work for me either but i was already diagnosed with endo when they tried them, please try to avoid the bowel/bladder route if you can. i was passed from pillar to post for 2 year back in 2002 and in the end i got a lap and was told it was endo. before that they told me it was IBS and bladder infections, just glad my GP pushed for me to be seen by a gynae surgeon who ive now been under the care of since back then and i cant fault him. But hopefully for you it wont take that long, like everything else i think it depends in what area you are and who you see at the time.

If the injections dont work, dont panic to much there is different things they can try, which they should before just passing you onto someone else.

Senga x

I was sent to bowel and bladder specialists for 4yrs before they decided to do a lap. They found stage 4 severe endo, that has attached my already retro flexed uterus to my bowel, affected my bladder and kidneys. Prostap and zoladex did nothing for me and now I am awaiting a 2nd lap to work on my bowel. Do not let them push you between pillar and post. As no one should have to suffer as we all do.
