Meds for nerve paid

Hi, has anyone found anything that really helps with their nerve-type pain?

I have widespread stage 4 endo, and I have awful paid in my shoulder and chest at night (it feels like I’m on fire!)I believe this is from the endo on my diaphragm. I also have sciatic pain.

I’ve been taking 10mg amitriptyline for a few months but don’t feel like it’s doing much, as I still wake in the night in awful pain. The pharmacist said I can double the dose if needed but I really feel the side effects when I do.

Anyone had positive results from gabapetin or pregabalin?

Any recommendations would be appreciated 😊

Hi! I’ve been taking pregabalin for permenant lower back and leg pain due to endo on pelvic walls/ligaments. I suffered worse at night so I take one tablet in the morning and two at night.

It takes a few weeks for them to fully kick in but thankfully since starting the new meds, I haven't suffered at all with this type of pain. I’ve had no side effects apart from an increase in appetite - combating with snacking on fruit and veg.

Worth a try!

I take 50mg amitriptyline on a night anything lower doesn't help on flare days I add 25mg in the morning. Iv tried gapapentin and pregabalin and found no effect from either of these. But everyone is different and it's a trail and error for each person. Hope you find something to help

Hi there, i took amitriptyline but couldn't cope with the exhaustion and side effects on it, the GP suggested nortriptyline instead and it was the best decision, i started on 10mg but then upped to 20mg when the pain was still stabbing and it has taken most of the continuous pain away for me and had a better effect on my energy levels, which allows me to cope with the flare ups more effectively, might be worth looking in to

I take 20mg of amitriptyline each night. It doesn't help me during the day, but it does stop me waking up in pain during the night (at least, most of the time!).

I also started gabapentin a few months ago to try and help with some leg pain. It does seem to be helping a bit (so far I've had one dose increase and my gp said I can up it again if needed).

I hope you find something that helps soon!

Hi,I tried Amitriptyline but it gave me terrible headaches. I've been on Pregabalin and Naproxen for a few years and they seem to work well. However I do have flare ups that require paracetamol on top.

Hope this helps xx

Gabapentin has been my absolute go to since I broke my cheekbone and right orbit. The stress induced from that accident, the surgeries ( 3 ) to fix my face and time off work caused my Endo to flare out of control. I tried Pregabalin twice but it wasn’t for me and now I’m going on 8 years with Gabapentin to control my Endo pain. Still, sometimes I find myself in an ambulance headed for morphine cause I guess sometimes I can’t cope. I’m covered in burns, my legs and abdo from hot water bottle. Recently a young male dr said I should simply take away the heat source… I was asking for a cream to reduce the toasted skin markings. Needless to say nothing was prescribed that day. Sigh. Best of luck in finding your meds. And please let us know if you’ve found the One🌷
