Hiya. My friend has vulvodinia with her endo and was prescribed cream for the pain. Im pretty sure its the same stuff I got from the pharmacist when my pain was really bad. Its medicated cream 2% lidocain. Often taking down the pain reduces inflamation too. Please note its not for internal use.

Thank you,il look into this cream , sounds great if it reduces inflammation and pain. Wish they'd invent something for internal use too !

When I had really bad problems internally and they ruled out an sti, i was given something for internal, but I dont want to say for definate it might have been Relactogel. That could be totally wrong though! I had 2 different gels in the past. They werent numbing creams but they helped lubricate internally if that makes sense. I remember putting the first one in was really weird and then I sneezed the whole lot shot out my vagina. I saw the funny side quite quickly.

Hi,

I have vulvodynia and use amitriptyline which helps the pain though it does takes a while to work as it has a cumulative effect and there are side effexts.

I was given dermol500 also as i had some eczema in that area too- the cream can be used as both a wash and a cream so it's 2in1.

Just some practical things that have helped me - comfortable cotton underwear, loose clothing, pads over tampons, nothing perfumed or aggressive when washing your intimate areas, keep hydrated.

Hope this helps a little! X

Thank you! That's really helpful, will look into that cream , I've swapped to eco friendly plant / bamboo based pads this week rather than usual supermarket plasticky ones, much more comfy :)
