Lost Where To Go Next

Hi everyone,

I'm feeling really lost at the moment and was hoping some ladies on here have been in a similar situation and can tell me where I need to be looking next.

My periods are heavy and extremely painful the first two days. The pain travels down my legs and up my back.

I feel stabbing pains when I ovulate. I also get lower pain next to my ovaries at other times in my cycle, sometimes so bad I'm doubled over in pain and can't work. I also struggle with pain during and after sex. I've had pelvic exams and the pain has come on strong 5 minutes after the examination is complete.

The gynae put me on a tri-cycle of rigevidon to see if it would help the pain - it didn't, and I bled straight through with clots, I still had clots coming out once the bleeding had stopped and I was off the pill.

I also struggle with extreme PMS symptoms every month. The mood swings are outrageous. My gynae spoke about getting my perimenopausal symptoms under control, but I'm only 27?

I had a laparoscopy 8 days ago and the surgeon said everything looked fine.

But the pain is still there, Its lurking in the background as I type this.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same struggles or if they had advice on potential causes that might not have been detected by the laparoscopy.

Or any advice at all, I feel so lost.

Thanks in advance xx

Hey, I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this, it’s literally my worst nightmare!

Can I ask if you have had surgery with a general gyne at your local hospital? If so, it may be worth requesting surgery images and taking them to a specialist for a second opinion. They are known to miss endo, it’s always best for surgery to be carried out by experienced specialists.

The perimenopausal remark is concerning and makes me wonder if they know what they’re actually doing. Have you had bloods/hormones checked to see what your levels are which might have indicated this? I would’ve thought you’re not of natural perimenopausal age. Of course this does happen early for people but tests can only indicate that. X

So sorry you are going through this. I’ve read the other comment below and agree with asking about hormone tests and blood tests etc to rule out anything else.

I’ve also seen a lot about PMDD which Vicky Pattinson is speaking out a lot recently. Could be worth reading into that and see if your PMS symptoms are anything like that. Thinking of you x

Hiya,

So sorry you're suffering like this, really sounds like you're being let down for answers and relief.

I had a lapro which my surgeon said removed all adhesions etc, but what they didn't and couldn't see was the endo that had formed everywhere else.

Push for an MRI if you can, it's the only definitive way to assess for endo and adenomyosis.

Really hope you get answers and relief soon x
