Hi, has anybody had their endo laparoscopy at the SEAL unit, Arrowe Park, Wirral? I'm just looking for anybody's experience generally. I got my letter today for surgery on 10th October. I've had a diagnostic lap years ago at a general hospital, but this time I'm at the specialist center for removal of endo. The letter said there is no designated waiting areas for patient's relatives, so the relatives are encouraged to wait in the main hospital's cafe and will be contacted when the patient is ready for discharge. I found this video on YouTube which suggests the complete opposite, that there are multiple waiting areas and your relatives will even be with you as you get put to sleep, which I find hard to believe. Here's the link to the video youtu.be/VOG4iXFtScQ?si=rw7...

Anybody's experience at this unit would be appreciated. Also, did they put numbing cream on your hand for the cannula? I planned on putting some on myself, then the video said they do it.

Thanks

I've had multiple surgeries at arrowe park for endo. They don't let anyone stay with you, they can drop you off then you wait alone in waiting room, and alone in recovery, they will call whoever is picking you up when you are out of surgery and let them know when to pick you up. My first one I was super anxious about being on my own but all the nurses there are amazing and it was honestly fine.

They haven't ever used numbing cream on me for cannula

Hi Jess , we can’t discuss specific surgeons or units on this public feed ( matters of legalities etc) If you want reassurance then it’s DM’s or Lindle has a separate group that can recommend more openly. X
