swelling in pouch of Douglas

so I've been under gynae for the last 9 months. Had 3 scans, all of which were inconclusive. I have now been passed to colorectal as I have been told I have a swelling in my pouch of Douglas and it's the size of a melon and compressing my bowel ! Fed up isn't the word given I can't eat and feel extremely sick and bloated on a daily basis. Seeing the bowel surgeon in September , he's opened another clinic to fit me in as he's actually booked up until December !! After all these months of waiting I still don't know what this swelling is and now have to wait another two months to be seen.

It might be worth contacting PALS and seeing if they can perhaps look into things as it's not fair to keep you waiting. I know waiting lists are long but with how your feeling they may see if they can get you in sooner.

Thank you, yes I might contact PALS, didn't really want to go down that route but may have to given that nobody is telling me anything. I expect colorectal will have reviewed my scans seeing as I'm now under them. I still have to go to gynae, he's rebooked me in after I have seen the bowel surgeon so no idea what's going on. I hope you are ok and get sorted soon, these things always seem like long journeys x

I had endometriosis in my pouch of douglas - the gynaecologist operated and treated it with diathermy - back in 2011, I still have bowel/gut problems but nothing like the flare up resulting in my laparoscopic surgery. Good luck with getting the help you need X

Thanks for your message. I was really hoping it was endometriosis as then I'd know what we were dealing with. However my gynae consultant said the mri results state it isn't , which is more concerning and why they've transferred me over to bowel I think. I should know a bit more in September hopefully x I'm pleased your symptoms have settled a bit, I've never experienced anything like this before x
