Find a specialist and check out their data

Increasingly some surgeons due to narcissistic jealousy are claiming they are endo specialists with no extra training and arrogance. The endo team comprises of a specialist nurse, gynaecologist, colorectal and urologist and radiographer. There are many gynaecologists relying on other members of the team to cover their incompetence.

Please check BSGE website and nationally reported statistics and ask for referral to registered centre. bsge.org.uk/centre/category...

Trusts and individuals must be held to account for delivering safe and competent services. Women first, ego last.

BSGE centres surgeons are not required to have any particular training and BSGE accreditation doesn’t convey any level of expertise There is a disclaimer on their website to that effect. Is is only the NHS England designated centres that are required to have advanced training and follow a standardised treatment specification which is laid down in law. At the last count that was around half of those on the BSGE list. Some of the BSGE centres are giving terrible care without any regard to any sort of national requirements. Anyone can apply and the BSGE concept has pretty much become meaningless as there is no way of identifying those who are required to follow standards.

You missed out the pain specialist and fertility teams.

I completely agree, drs performing this surgery should be sub specialist like any other, instead it currently is a free for all at the expense of women’s lives. Many practicing privately and adding endo to their list of skills without knowledge or experience. The BSGE requires their registrants to record national data on every surgery they perform and patient outcomes but completely agree accredited training and competency updates are required as an urgent action.

Are you able to share which the NHS designated centres are or how to locate them please?

Unfortunately I don’t know yet - am still waiting for NHS England to confirm. But Oxford and Bristol are definitely included.
