advice wanted pls!

I’ve suffered with painful periods for years, to the point I’d be on the floor crying in agony etc. I’ve had different medications, contraceptive pills and was finally given depo injections after I turned up to the gp sobbing where I was in so much pain so he referred me to gynae. Long story short I have an anaesthetic allergy so the gynae consultant said they’d be wary about doing surgery to look for endo which is why she put me on depo. The injections definitely worked as it stopped my periods completely and the next few years were great! I was not missing my periods at all lol. After being on them for at least 3 years tho I began to think about my body and how that couldn’t just be the end all and eventually I do want kids so I’d like to know what my body is doing, so came off the injections. It took about a year/year and a half for my periods to come back properly and since then they haven’t been as bad but every few are still quite painful and make me feel rubbish. And I now get pain every time I ovulate too that sometimes travels down my legs or is just really uncomfortable cramping/dull aching in my stomach/pelvis. I’ve always had tummy issues ever since I was little which was put down to query ibs/chrons but nothing ever confirmed. Some other random symptoms I’ve had is feeling constantly tired (went for bloods at gp found no cause), I always feels bloated doesn’t seem to matter how much/little I eat or what I eat and for the last 3 months I’ve had this pain in my right leg which started off as just a little twinge every now and again and would hurt if I sat funny or crossed my legs either way but has gradually got more annoying and it hurts pretty much all the time now and is painful to walk on and going up the stairs. The pain is mainly in my thigh but sometimes will radiate down and be like a warm tingly sensation in my lower leg. Not sure if it’s anything but have seen a few things that these could be related to endo..

Basically I’ve always had this feeling that somethings not quite right and I want to push further but I’m also really scared that I’ll push for it to be investigated properly and they’ll still find nothing and then it turns out I’m just a big wimp :/ I just want to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar to me and whether it’s turned out to be endo or something else! Thanks in advance :)

Hi

Have you had an MRI? It’s definitely worth asking for a scan, either GP or Gynae if you haven’t had one. Ultrasound can be ok if the person knows what to look for. If you do get MRI make sure they do both abdomen and pelvic areas.

Sounds like you’re suffering quite a bit now, hopefully you’ll get some answers soon. Have you got decent pain relief?
