Hi guys. This may be a silly question. Does anyone know if endometriosis can affect your bowel only and not be found in your pelvis?

Hi ☺️ I’d also love to know if anyone has experience with this. I was diagnosed in November via laparoscopy and I had more bowel and pain symptoms than anything else. They excised my endo during the surgery but I’m still getting pain and bowel symptoms - now getting quite a bit of bleeding from it too. I’ve been tested for all other bowel and gastro conditions and am clear for everything else. My GP has referred me back to gynae as she said it could possibly be inside the bowel (which they wouldn’t have seen) rather than on the outside which they would have seen during lap 🤷♀️ strange as I’ve had multiple colonoscopies which never found anything but the GP said if it wasn’t actively bleeding or doing anything at the time, they maybe missed it and it wouldn’t have been something they were looking for
Hi, In theory I would imagine so, as endo itself is cells SIMILAR (not the same) to the uterus lining growing elsewhere so I think its possible but its also possible for it to be involving other areas not just the bowel. I will link the endo uk page which goes into it more, hope that is of some help x
