I'm looking to start up horseriding lessons but worried it might be bad for my endo adeno and fertility treatment. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi there, I have a horse and used to ride professionally. Unfortunately, my endometriosis has gotten so bad at times I could not maintain riding professionally any longer. Now I enjoy riding bareback occasionally and generally just enjoy spending time around horses. It was very hard in my latest surgery recovery as I have a young horse that needs exercise and unfortunately, I was unable to maintain his fitness in my recovery.

Everyone's endometriosis is a unique and personal thing, it varies so much. What helps my endometriosis the most is anything that relieves stress, so being around my horse is the perfect remedy for that.

I would say that if you feel up for it, go for it! Being around horses is therapy and you don't need to ride to benefit from it. I'd argue that you benefit more from being around horses and getting to know them and appreciate them than you do from riding them around. They are great healers and if your condition makes it difficult to ride, there are still so many benefits you can get from just being around them. Go for it!
