Hi, I have endometriosis and with it I get bowel symptoms. The most prevalent is pain but I also get cyclical rectal bleeding. I had a colonoscopy and it was all clear they took some biopsies but results i probably wont get this year. I know this is common with endometriosis, but where does the blood come from if there isn't endometriosis on the inside of the colon?

I am exactly the same! I’ve had laparoscopy and endometriosis on my ligaments around my bowel but nothing in my bowels and colonoscopy all clear but I get rectal bleeding with extremely painful bowel movements but they’ve just said “it’s endometriosis” but how?! I want to know too! Sorry I can’t be any help but know you’re not alone in it
I have had two colonoscop`s for right lower abdominal pain and rectal bleeding but they found nothing. got disagnosed with endo in June after a miscarriage, I had been to a doctor 12 years ago telling them I thought I had it but at that time I was told I had pre cancerous growth on my uterous that I had lazer ablation for, now I am booked in for endo surgery in DEcember but since July I have had entero colitus symptoms and was considering whether I should try to see a gastroenterologust before the surgery to get a colonoscopy but after talking to the surgeon and explaining my concerns I think that I will wait to see what they find during the laporoscopy but not knowing what is the cause (do I also have crohns or ulcertive colitus or is this all from the endo) has been so stressful. I really feel for you and everyone here. I have not been able to work since 2020 due to also having a herniated disc and I have been really struggling with all the pain I have been in. Hope you are feeling better, just to add I am not in the UK though I am from there...
