Hi All I was diagnosed with this a few weeks ago after 10 months in excruciating pain everyday, I was told that it has grown between my left ovary and uterus, attaching the two together. I have been referred to the Gynaecologist at the hospital. Has anyone had experience on waiting times for appointments & surgery?
Does anyone know if the longer you have endometriosis the worse it gets for example teh longer you have it the more chance you have with conceiving?

hi i am based in Leeds and i waited 2 years for an appointment with gynae, and after first app for the second app i was put on a waiting list which is 52weeks long!
I have no idea if this is the waiting list for surgery or waiting list for 2nd app, either way its unrealistic and disgusting.
Ive personally opted to go private, which i cant afford as my first surgery was also private, but ive opted for finance plan.
If you do decide to go private their is a list of consultants who have experience with endo available too.
You can phone up the hospital and ask for secretary number for the gynae you are booked in to see and they can tell you how long the waiting list is if that helps..
You can also ask to be referred to pain management. This is also a long waiting list in Leeds not sure of anywhere else, but you can also go to pain clinic privately too.
I havent had the experience of pain injections as of yet so cant comment on if they are affective,
