Honestly I cannot stop crying! Just for context I’ve been referred to gynaecology for endometriosis and it’s going to be around 9 months before I get an appointment! I had a transvaginal ultrasound last week for pain in my left ovary (which is becoming more frequent and worse!) but on the day they told me they couldn’t see the left! I had a phone call with the doctors for the results and they said that I have PCOS on my right ovary but said unless I wanted kids now then it will just be left! But my concern is the left as during the scan it was severely more painful than the right! So I asked about the left and he said they couldn’t see it, I explained to him the pain is worsening and asked if they could see anything, he said he couldn’t see it! So I asked if I needed a repeat to see that ovary and he said I don’t qualify! He was very rude and ended the phone. No questions answered! I’m just at a loss. I’m so tired having to go back to my GP and just argue! I don’t know what the left pain is and I’m unsure of my next steps!

I need to go private but cannot afford it! I’ve looked into health insurance. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I am so sorry you are going through this!!I have had very similar experiences with the GP, feeling like all you ever do is argue for the care you deserve, it is exhausting! In my experience I said I need to be referred to gyne and refused to leave until they had. Also ended up seeing a consultant who told me to change the pill I was on and did not look at me once during the appointment! Slouched in her chair, staring at the computer but not making any notes, sighing when I told her my symptoms and continuously interrupting me! It is so devastating to be waiting for help and then feel completely belittled, so I can completely understand! Private definitely gets you seen quicker than the NHS and you get results a lot quicker also! I am on NHS and my MRI results I won't receive for 4-6 weeks whereas private for my friend was 2 weeks. If you can go private then defo recommend, but as unfair as it is, just keep fighting.

I have looked into health insurance but I’m worried it won’t cover it!! It is terrible! They are awfully rude and I’m so sorry you have experienced it too! I do hope you get your answers soon! Thank you for your advice and help!! Xx

hello,

I don’t know where you are based but Epsom NHS hospital is amazing they have a specialist endo unit. I’m now on private through work. I was told on a scan they couldn’t see my left ovary, then had a laparoscopy and my ovary is stuck to my bowel. I don’t want to say this is the same for you but you need to push for a second opinion. They can’t fob everyone off like this. You know your body!
