I have been suffering with a pain in my right side between my hip and ribs that starts as a nipping sensation that’s gets worse and worse till it become a swollen throbbing feeling that spreads to my groin. (Almost like there’s trapped wind)It appears to “flare up” and isn’t constant. Iv had a ct scan of kidneys, gall bladder ultrasound, overies where seen last year through many scans I had whilst pregnant. Iv had stool sample tests done-all fine, and most recently a cystoscopy of the bladder-all clear. So the dr is pursuing endometriosis as a possibility. The thing is Iv never had heavy or excruciating periods. I do get strong back pain for a day or too but other than that they are bearable and regular. I have however suffered from “uti” type symptoms and pain when pooing whilst on period for as long as I can remember. Iv lost count of the amount of times Iv been to the drs with UTI symptoms and the dip test be negative. I just wondered if this sounded anything like any of your experiences. I don’t want to get my hopes up that I’m nearing an answer if these symptoms don’t fit. Thanks for reading x

Just to say, you can have Endo but also have regular periods. It’s a common symptom to have painful/heavy periods but it isn’t the case for everyone.

Hello Chryzstina10 , it sounds like due to your wide ranging symptoms endometriosis is definitely worth considering. It's a bit of a myth that heavy periods equal endo, as I barely bleed at all, but am currently being investigated for advanced endo. I'd say don't rule it out but be prepared for a bit of a wait to get official diagnosis, as it notoriously takes a while- but for sure worth pursuing! Wishing you all the best x

Hi I agree with what the other ladies have said here, the heavy/painful periods are not always the case with some endometriosis sufferers.

I was diagnosed with endo in 2019, my periods were light & short, before diagnosis I did get the first few days of pain but I thought this was regular menstral cramps.

I did suffer sharp pains like you have described when having bowel movements during my period which is a symptom of endo. I would never have thought I had this condition until it was found.

Definitely worth looking into , best of luck with everything X
