I have been diagnosed since 2017 and last month had my 3rd laparoscopy to excise my endometriosis. They found a nodule on my sigmoid mesocolon that they thought was endometriosis however they have said in my discharge letter that it was ovarian tissue.
Has anyone heard of this before? I should add that this was not done by a specialist centre since in Scotland unless you have Stage 4 and deep endo outwith your reproductive organs then you cannot be referred. Thanks in advance!

This sounds a bit odd, if it is a nodule on your sigmoid colon you probably do have stage 4, if non specialists operated on you they might not realise this the sigmoid colon is a very typical place to get severe endo. I think you should try to get an MRI to see where the endo actually is. I had an op with a non specialist gynae who diagnosed me as stage 2 and did ablation, it made no difference and I went back to a specialist centre and was diagnosed with stage 4 and then had excision. A good specialist sonographer will be able to see exatcly what is wrong, I hope you can get somewhere.Good luck.
