Is it protocol to have contact with Endometriosis Nurse at BSGE centre whilst waiting for surgery.I have been on waiting list since July for multidisciplinary team operation and have not been seen since since July .I contacted PALS and they asked am I not under endometriosis nurse or pain clinic . Does anyone know if I should be ? I’m seeing my consultant privately this evening as I can’t get an appointment with him at NHS hospital even though I’m on waiting list through NHS .Just wondering wether I should mention not being seen .any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks hope you are all doing as well as can be.xx

I was given a phone number & email address of the team I was under incase I had any questions/queries.
I did email them occasionally to query certain aspects of my symptoms that I was unsure of.
It was always the nurses that responded though. I never once spoke to the consultant I was under. A week before I had my op, I had a phone consultation with a completely different surgeon who performed the laparoscopy.
I guess you have made the right decision by going private and speaking to the consultant.
I’m having treatment privately but have been referred to a BSGE centre as I had an MDT held there which my private consultant arranged via the NHS
Do you think I’d be able to speak to the nurse at the centre given that I’m having treatment privately? Sometimes I have a change in symptoms/weird changes and can’t go to my consultant each time I experience so end up just having to leave it as my GP is no help.
Yes, definitely speak to the nurses, that’s what they are there for. Don’t ever feel like your symptoms are too minor to discuss. I always felt better after contacting (emailing) someone.
thank you ,I think I have been completely forgotten about .The consultant has cancelled my appointment this evening , just to wind me up even more 🙄 .. I’m glad I have you’re reply as I can go in there when he re arranges and say it’s been nearly 10 months with no help or support whatsoever.
