I was diagnosed with Stage 1 endometriosis in February 2022, had further surgery in October 2022 and was then told I was more like stage 2 than stage 1 with the progression of the endometriosis tissue. It was a relief to finally have a diagnosis to be honest after years of being fobbed off by doctors and other specialists. My mum has endometriosis and knew the chance of having it myself, after chatting with close friends who also have endometriosis and adenomyosis..found the courage to seek private medical support which lead me on the path and diagnosis.
I have had to change lifestyle and eating habits to ensure my body doesn't suffer too many flare ups...still trying to keep a balance yet having a baby is one of my biggest dreams and something I have always wanted. Have previously miscarried so a little worried.
I am on a contraceptive pill to not only reduce the symptoms of endometriosis but because I have excessive bleeding continuously. Unfortunately, I am having to take the pill continuously for 6 months, have a 2 week break then back on the pill..yet sometime i do not have a period. My fears: I come off the contraceptive pill for me and my partner to start trying for a baby and this becomes impossible if the excessive bleeding continuously starts!
Any advice or help is much appreciated
Thanks 😊
