Hi,

i just wondered how long people are usually told to fast for prior to Pelvic MRI with contrast? I have only been told 2 hours but read everywhere it’s usually at least 4 hours. Any experiences would be helpful. I have a long history of endometriosis with multiple surgeries etc.

many thanks

I’ve never been told to fast and I had one a couple of weeks ago.🤔

I think different hospitals have different protocols as I’m also having an abdominal scan at the same sitting so that could be why. Most people say it’s 4 hours to fast so I think I will do the 4 hours jusy to be safe.

Thank you for sharing its confusing and I’m just so worried of being stuck in so much pain, I really want it all to go well. My endo has always been diagnosed via laparoscopy previously but this is to hopefully save me multiple surgeries again.
