Hi everyone,I had my first diagnostic laparoscopy 1 year and 6 months ago. They found Endometriosis and removed it.
After the lap, my periods were more manageable, I was actually able to leave the house during my periods, something I'd not been able to do for soooo long!
Now I'm 1.5 years post-op and my periods/flare ups seem to be getting progressively worse to the point i just had a period and I passed out twice from the pain and heaviness. The doctor has referred me for a scan and then I'll be referred back to gynae.
My question is, has anyone else found their symptoms have returned after a laparoscopy? And if so how long after their surgery did the symptoms seem to return?
Would be grateful to hear others experiences, I'm concerned I'm going to have debilitating periods again 😥

That must be so disappointing for you but I expect that sadly it is not uncommon. Did they stop or try to stop your periods by giving you the pill or fitting a merina coil? I didn't get endo and adenomyosis til late in life so my diagnosis and treatments were short, so I'm not familiar with all the different treatment options. I do sympathise hugely though because my laparoscopy also didn't work. Although a merina coil was fitted that stopped my periods, the pain carried on as bad as before. It was constant and I was on tramadol (8 a day) and paracetamol to manage life. The doctor suggested GnRH drugs as a next step which is a harsh but (I'm told) effective treatment that I believe puts the body into a temporary menopause. At 45 years of age I thought I was probably not far off menopause so I decided to try an anti inflammatory diet instead. I saw a dietician and managed to get pain free in 6 months. My doctor was really delighted for me and suggested to me that this would surely be a future treatment in years to come. See what other ladies on here suggest as my treatments were nearly 10 years ago, but I would try and stop my periods if you can and then manage the pain. Your GP should be able to offer treatment options or you could also try the anti inflammatory diet? All the best with it!
