Hysterectomy advice
Hi
I had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago but I’m much older. It was a relief in getting rid of some of the pain.
You must be really bad to be having a hysterectomy, sorry you’re having to do this.
What would you like to know?
I had mine at 29, they done mine keyhole. I was spre for about 2 weeks but internally didn't heal for a couple of months. Make sure you rest and don't push yourself.
Hi, I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy last week. The surgery itself went well but I have had lots of pain since. You need to prepare for your arrival at home as it will be difficult to stand up from a couch and even harder to get out of bed. I think I did some damage trying to get out of bed and have slept upright on the couch since which isn't helping. I also had a lot of pain from the gas left inside me so I'd ask how they plan to expel it all as there are procedures for dealing with this. I shall never have laparoscopic surgery again as I had an awful experience. I've had an emergency caesarean before which was a walk in the park compared to this. I know plenty of people who had laparoscopic hysterectomies who all say it's the best thing they ever did and had no problems so it's probably just me! Take it very easy when you get home too. I wish you well.
I had mine last year at age of 36 and still struggling with abdominal pain. Make sure you rest, and don't set any expectations on the length of the recovery.
I had an abdominal incision so the surgeon could weed the endo. I had a very long scare right across my abdomen closed with staples. First two days were sore, with drains and dressings. Third day, out of bed and wanting to go home. The only issue I had was, a few days after I left hospital, I didn't get the handbrake on the car quite enough and it began to roll down the hill. I had to dive in the car a bit quick, that hurt! 😅After that, no pain, no bleed, no pads, no anemia , no fussy head, no menopause for me! Life begins!!!
there must be some other way??
