Hello there! I had an operative laparoscopy for my endometriosis (stage III) in June and feel much better now.

The first two weeks are quite difficult. I was in hospital for five days with a catheter as I was unable to pass urine (as my bladder and ureters were affected) but the nurses were wonderful. I went home with a catheter and self care was difficult for an additional week until I had that removed at a TWOC clinic.

I could move around and walk a lot better once my catheter had been removed, and felt more myself at the 3 week mark; however, I was experiencing shock-like pain and still having to rest a lot and work from home. By a month post-op, I felt considerably better.

Good luck! X

I had surgery for stage 4 endo, 70% was completed, bowel was left, with plans in the future to do that as it was to much in one go, but I spent 5 days in hospital, catheter, I would say I was able to get back to some form of normality after about 4 weeks.

I was only in hospital 3 days but agree the worst part was the catheter. I was fine with washing but putting on underwear and proper clothes was very awkward and I couldn’t really walk far as it was uncomfortable and walking really helps with recovery. I had it it for 10 days and felt fine in myself at that point but was behind on the exercise. If you have a catheter make sure you are given antibiotics to take home as it’s highly likely you’ll get a bladder infection from the catheter, regardless of how much you shower etc it’s just one of those things. I was back to work in 3 weeks but I was 10 years younger!. All completely worth it as felt a million times better after just few weeks.

I was in hospital for two days and then discharged. The first few days were rough, make sure you take something to help with your bowls and keep up with the pain relief they discharge you with. Take really comfy soft pjs and have some ready at home. I found drinking peppermint tea helps and a heatpad on my back After three weeks I started to feel more myself. Take it easy and go at your own pace, no two recoveries are the same. Hope they sort you out soon ☺️
