I’ve been diagnosed by a consultant with endometriosis, however they decided not to do the laparoscopy as my symptoms were enough to diagnose me and with this referred me back to my doctors and just prescribed tranexemic acid which I have tried before anyway.
Am I right to be concerned after being diagnosed without actually having the correct checks? Has anyone else been diagnosed this way?
I wasn’t even given any advise or help let alone a leaflet.
So shocked and don’t know where to go or what to do now.
Any help or advice would be so appreciated right now!

Yes you are right to be concerned as this is against guidelines. It is probably a general gynaecologist who saw you with no expertise in diagnosing endo, which is required by the NICE guideline.
A new European guideline was released in February this year (ESHRE), and the lap is no longer the gold standard for diagnosis but neither is a diagnosis from symptoms alone. You should now have a scan first and for suspected endo it needs to be someone with the additional skills to check for rectovaginal endo by checking what is called the 'sliding sign' to see if the bowel and uterus slide freely against each other or if they are stuck together. It is vital that should you have deep endo then this needs to be identified as it dictates the appropriate treatment pathway going forward.
Did they do a thorough clinical exam to include a rectovaginal with fingers up bum and vagina to feel for deep nodules?
I’d agree with Lindle. The aim isn’t to do so much surgery but you need to know the extent. They can’t go to just dismissing your concerns and suggesting something that doesn’t work for you.I doubt they are being given guidance apart from don’t do ops.
Look up anti inflammatory diets for Endo, sugar can be a big culprit.
Believe in your concerns and aim not to just get them dismissed. It does take strength at times and it’s not easy, buts your health and that’s important.
I was also diagnosed with me explaining my symptoms and it was suggested I get the surgery. Instead I cleaned up my diet and worked on detoxing estrogen which gets stored in the liver and that appears to be a big factor.
