Hey! I’ve not been diagnosed yet but am currently waiting as I have all the symptoms too…. I am now off any contraception because I felt it was making me worse however my ovulation pain is usually much more severe than my period pain and I’ve heard from others this is also a common side effect. Also a hysterectomy does not cure endo and you can still experience pain after. I hope this helps xo

Hi! Sorry you are going through this. I am not officially diagnosed either but was on the combined pill for 3 years and ovulation pain was absolutely horrendous could barely stand up! Hope this helps x

It is not true. You can have endo pain and symptoms even if you don't have a period for whatever reason. So no that Dr is wrong. Do they have a specialist interest in endo or are they a general gynaecologist with different interests?

Not true. Classic male viewpoint am afraid. Instead I like to think of the difference as how we cycle and this applies for many women post menopause too . If you imagine without the hormone suppression - your normal cycle - is like a big tide where there is the greatest difference between low and high water and the greatest possibility of floods and storms …and then the smaller tides where there is the smallest difference between low and high water is when the suppression is in action. Storms and currents are less noticeable but still there. There’s still a variation between low and high waters but it’s how much difference.

I’ve been diagnosed for about 15years now and cycled on all my hormone treatments so I’m now off all of them now. Like you say just because the bleeding isn’t there doesn’t mean the pain isn’t. I did have a female Gyno tell me it’s impossible to still cycle so refused to see her again and my new Gyno is much better. I have to say tho the best gyno I ever had was a man unfortunately he retired, I was devastated, unfortunately there are lots of bad gynaecologists out there so try and see an alternative in your trust as I did.

Hormone treatment only helps some people. It never helped me. Find an excision specialist who us skilled enough to deal with Endometriosis. Look up on Nancy's nook to find someone competent in your area. Most oncologists are not skilled enough to deal with Endo you really need a specialist. Even then there is no cure only relief from pain which can return.

Thanks all for reply, ive learnt more from this group and researhing myself then prob what some gynes know. Luckily I paid to see a privte endo who said all the opposite! whos put me on his nhs list just that its a very long wait to have lap done but him but obv better in the long run as this one was only genral gyne (whis speacial is urogynocology) and 0bv doenst know much about endo!!!! Juat wosh I had the money to get it done aspa but ive gone over and pver the numbers and its just not possible at the moment Xxx
