The interval should be 30 days but having an occasional one after 5 weeks (so 35 days) wouldn't be a problem as the drug is long lasting and the effect remains for some time after you stop - i.e. the ovaries wouldn't suddenly start working again after the 30 days expires. But I would avoid having one after only 3 weeks as 21 days is considerably less than 30. It wouldn't make any difference to the ovaries as they are shut down anyway but this is a very strong medication that acts on the brain and there are anecdotal reports that some have permanent side effects from normal use so I personally wouldn't want to take a risk once that might trigger something by having too much in my system than the manufacturer intends.
If the injection today is only after 3 weeks it isn't the case that this will in some way make up for a 5 week gap previously as it doesn't work like that. I would reschedule it and be careful not to base a decision on a nurse or GP saying it is OK as they really won't be able to say that as the risks are not well understood.
Thank you for replying the 1 I had today was a 5 week gap it's my last injection at the end of August that is a 3 week gap but I have managed to change it as I told them I wasn't comfortable with the shortness they agreed so have sorted it.very much appreciate the feed back.
