Hello!

I am 27. They found a cyst on my right ovary 6 years ago when I was having bladder issues around my period... It was a simple cyst and nothing was done.

I had a baby in 2019 and stopped breastfeeding last august. Since then my periods have been all over the place. My sister having endo, I went to the doctor and asked for a scan. Low and behold the simple cyst I had 6 years ago is still there and is actually a 2cm Endometrioma. Small I know, but so painful. I can feel it and I think it may be attached to my colon as that flares with it.

I can't believe it is so advanced and am trying everything I can at home naturally since there is apparently a 3 year waiting list in my area anyway...

I just saw a post about acupuncture which I will absolutely try! Apart from the pain where the cyst is, and back pain, I don't have many other symptoms. I would really like to try and get rid of the cyst as I feel everything else is manageable.

I would really love to hear some positive stories around any alternative treatments you may have chosen to use along the way?

I would look into getting rid of the cyst via surgery, I do know some are non problematic long term but others aren’t. Bit of a gynaecological lottery. Not a chance I’d take. Mine was a nasty bugger and caused me a world of pain (4cm if I remember) and there’s a chance of them rupturing or twisting back on themselves too. Honestly I’m no expert but I don’t think all the acupuncture in the world can get rid of ovarian cysts. I think you’re going to need to see a specialist. It’s been hanging around you for too long and I think it’s well past time you parted company with your problematic painful cling-on friend once and for all. IMHO. X

An anti-inflammatory diet can help with endometriosis pain and inflammation and it certainly made a difference to my endo pain, but I didn't have cysts. It might be something that is worth trying whilst you are waiting for surgery .
