I went through the process of seeing a gynaecologist about potential endo, however after having a laparoscopy done she said there was nothing inside. I don't feel satisfied with this considering the pain i have been in and the irregularity of my periods. do you think it is worth trying to get a referral to an endo specialist?
Have you had a similar situation, what have you done?
many thanks

Hi I'm so sorry to hear that. I'd advice to go back for second opinion. I done that many times but different is they kept lying to me knowing there was something all along. So tend to say it's nothing as they dint want women having operations I'm not sure alot women have different experiences. I hope u get sorted soon get a second opinion and keep us updated all the best.
I had my first laparoscopy under general gynae, not an endo specialist. They found a small patch of endo on my pouch of douglas and a 5cm cyst, then I had my follow up, told them none of my symptoms had improved and was discharged!
I’ve now managed to get a referral with a bsge accredited centre and have my first appointment next month so I can’t yet comment on a difference in what they find/how the experience differs with a specialist.
However, I would say it’s worth starting the process of getting a referral to a endo specialist or at least further investigation into the pain - it’s madness the amount of posts I’ve read where people have a lap under general gynae and they find none or minimal endo and then a specialist performs a lap and it’s found that organs are fused together! How that is missed I do not know, but it’s worrying.
My daughter is going through the same thing and she is waiting to see an endometriosis specialist. I understand endometriosis can be missed on a lap or scans. You know your body if you are in pain push to see a specialist. I wish you luck
