due for 2nd removal of endo tissue, and removal of coil as this didn't work. I had been given the decapeptyl injection which was wonderful and I was pain free for the first time in 10yrs. have asked for this injection again and refused due to my age (42) looking to see if anyone has fought for a hysterectomy as I feel other methods aren't successful and this may b my only relief of pain. I feel that unnecessary procedures are doing more damage as it is more scar tissue which the endo is clinging to

I had a hysterectomy for adenomyosis, but they did stress before the op that it wouldn't be a cure for my endo... So it would be worth asking your consultant about it, but I wouldn't get your hopes up just in case xx

Thanks for your post. It's amazing that you finally had relief from pain after so many years of suffering! As a fellow endo survivor, I can imagine how great that must have felt, and how frustrating to be told you can't have the injection again. I understand how limited the treatment options are for endometriosis too. I notice that you've mentioned a hysterectomy. This is a very emotional and life-changing decision to make and it's important to have all the information to hand so that you can choose what is best for your body. Hi Mrsmcgrogan, I dont really understand why they said u cant have the decapeptyl injections 🤔 I've just turned 40 and I've been on them for 2yrs as ive been waiting for a hysterectomy (finally have date 2/3/22) it was the only thing that helped me too! I did fight for many years to get someone to listen to me but it did finally work, everything with endo seems to be a figh! Good luck and I hope everything turns out ok xx

I don't understand either why not continue with a treatment that has eventually worked, they were worried aboyt me dealing with menopause symptoms but I don't think they cld b any worse than endo pain. I think sometimes it's just ur luck with the gynaecologist, here's hoping I can discuss it further as they have sent me private 4 the procedure due romy health board not being able to carry out due to covid restrictions.hope ur surgery goes well xx
