Feeling so lost.

Undiagnosed but suspected Endo

GP tried to fit mirena coil a few weeks back but couldn't measure as my womb neck was too tight. She wants to try again this Friday with local but I am so scared. The last one made me suffer for days and I just don't know what to do. She said I had to try this before referral.

Symptoms.... Painful sex. Pain urinating, pain when laying on front or carrying baby, pelvic pain, vulva pain, leg pain, diarrhoea when any pressure, unable to hold urine without pain, bleeding is heavy for a few days but not unbearable. Always tired. Bloating after any penetration.

Currently strong throbbing pain between my legs in tears :-(

Any advice please.......

Thank you

Sorry to hear that! But it’s your body & they can’t bully you into having it by threatening no referral. I had coil & its was awful! Had mine inserted during lap & it only lasted 3 or 4 weeks till I had it out wish you luxk

Can I ask did you get these sharp pain within the pelvic and cervix area that spread into your back and legs.Ever since I got mine fitted I keep getting these pains that leave my legs tingling and numb and I feel weak.

I’ve not been pregnant before but it’s what I image contractions to be as the leave me screaming in agony when the pain reaches its peak

The local anaesthetic is a charm helped me but it’s still uncomfortable. The pain for the next month and so is unbearable for me I was in hospital so many times and getting it checked. I hope you end up fine but keep us posted wishing you the best

Hi Lauren. So sorry to hear that you had to go through something like this! GP can't bully you into anything as it is your choice and most importantly your body!

I had the Mirena coil in when I was first diagnosed with Endo and it worked like a charm! I had no symptoms at all but this time round I had more heavy bleeding during period and the symptoms you have been experiencing. When discussed with the consultant, I was told that this can happen whilst your body is "adjusting" to the coil and it can take up to 6 months! I'm sorry but I ain't waiting that long to feel somewhat normal again so I had it removed literally after having it in for a month.

Have you tried Hormonal tablets such as Noresthirone or Tranaexmic Acid when you are on your period? And what pain killers are you currently taking?

Thank you for response. Im just taking paracetamol and ibuprofen. At the moment I think the bowel and bladder issues are the worst. Any pressure on my stomach and im running to the toilet in agony, completely grey in the face and have the worst diarrhoea . Last week this was caused by carrying my 1 year old nephew for 2 long. I also have bladder urgency and it aches when i go but never feel like I've been. Im back at docs on Friday to have coil done under local but think i'm going to use the appoitment to discuss my options as I can't see that the coil will help these symptoms . Hope you are feeling ok yourself xx

Yes do that. Talk about other medications you can take to relieve you of your symptoms if you don't want the coil put in. I would also avoid carrying anything heavy or pushing yourself to do chores that require alot of physical movement until you get yourself treated. I noticed with myself that if I over work myself it triggers my symptoms further. Hope you get the answers you need from your GP!
