Can I have an endometrioma but not endometriosis? By chance, after a miscarriage, the ultrasound found and endometrioma. 2 months later a repeat ultrasound confirmed the endometrioma But my gp said to me that I must not have endo because I would have known by now(I am 36) and I had 1 child at 26 (even though i had 3 miscarriages after that). I am mad with him. Isn't endometrioma a result of endometriosis? When I told him that I have all the symptoms of endometriosis that i read on nhs website, he was like "ah really how much do you pain?" I was not prepared and I just told him I pain very much. I felt so bad with myself that I didn't tell him the best example of how much I pain since i remember periods: when I gave birth I went to the hospital fully dilated and gave birth an hour after, without any pain medication, because all the time I was dilating at home I thought that the pain was ok, similar to period pain..
He gave me a letter for CA125 blood test, only because the ultrasound report recommended it and after that he said that he will refer me to the gynecologist. I really hope that he sends me to the gynecologist and there I get a correct diagnosis.

Hi there, how frustrating for you. Unfortunately this is a pretty normal response from a GP, most know very little about endo.
The statement from your gp that you would already know you had it is rubbish, it's incredibly common to be diagnosed in your 30's. I just had mine at 37.
To answer your question, no. If you have an endometrioma then by definition you have endometriosis. Can you have an endometrioma and have no other endometriosis else where? It's possible but highly unlikely. An endometrioma is indicative of stage 3 endometriosis.
Whatever comes back from this blood test, push for that gynae referral, you have endometriosis, even if your GP is too poorly informed to realize x
