After finally finding a GP to take me seriously I was sent to have an ultrasound. My GP called me yesterday and said my ultrasound showed that the lining of my womb looks too thick and that I need a gynecology referral. Has anyone else had anything similar happen? My symptoms really match with endometriosis but my GP didn't actually mention it.

It sounds like your GP is referring you to the gyno to confirm that it is endo. The gyno will be able to provide more detail and specialist advice, I hope you have an appt soon!
Hi I have a bulky/thick womb and diagnosed with adenomyosis via MRI scan and endometriosis via a laparoscopy. I hope you get answers soon x
Hi there, a thicker than normal uterine lining is usually indicative of adenomyosis. Any endometriosis you have is unlikely to have shown on an ultrasound, they're not a good diagnostic tool for endometriosis, but can be used as somewhere to start as sometimes it can show indications of endometriosis or some deep infiltrating endo or endometriomas, but the majority is invisible on ultrasound.
It's good news that you've been referred and you're being taken seriously. The symptoms of endometriosis and adenomyosis are very similar. Have a look and see if it matches yours x
Hi,
I have a bulky uterus too, sounds lovely! 😂
I was referred to gynaecologist and she is going to do hysteroscopy and Uterine biopsy. I also have a small fibroid.
