Hoping for some advice or just to know I'm not alone! I am completely at my wits end! I have had 6 months of horrendously pain periods and absolutely no help from my doctors. They are now not even calling me back as I was calling at least once a month every month.
The docs have put me on Norethisterone tablets and my normally regular period has now lasted for well over 2 weeks (instead of the 4 or 5 days it used to be). They aren't calling me back so I can't even ask them about this but wondered if others have had the same?
I'm having an ultrasound in 2 weeks but am doubtful this will help with a diagnosis. I dont know what I should do the next time my period comes around, its hurts to even take a deep breath when it's at its worst.
Would appreciate any tips to help with the pain as well.
Thank you!! Xx

Norehisterone is supposed to stop bleeding so it’s clearly not working,
Re your GPs’ lack of response, you could try writing to the Practice Manager detailing how often you have called, a brief outline of what your issues are and emphasising you are in a lot of pain. and that you have not been getting a response. Putting stuff in writing often helps get a response. You could check online what their complaints procedure is too. It should be on the practice website.
There is always the option of going to A and E if you are in a lot of pain. I don’t know how busy they are now.
The more effective painkillers you will need to get via your GP, so they need sorted out! You can take over the counter paracetamol and ibuprofen, it works quite well to space them out rather than taking both at the same time.
If your GP tells you to stop Norehisterone go cautiously, I had this experience and had horrendous pain and bleeding, gynae consultant told me it should have been withdrawn gradually.
