I was called yesterday to offer a gynae appt on Monday, so 3 days after the call!
What do I say to make them actually do a lap? How do I respond to
“We’d just treat with contraceptive anyway…”
Top tips people! I really want them to do a lap so I’ll know either way, I don’t want an assumed diagnosis for this, but I don’t know how to say that without sounding crazy!

All your symptoms on the worst days.
Tell them what you want, if you want an op tell them, don’t ask. Much harder for excuses.
Do you have a name to look them up? If not ask what their experience with Endo is.
Can you have someone with you? If so have the call on speaker and tell Gynae they are there, it’s polite, but also makes them aware you aren’t alone.

Hi just attend don’t cancel as you might have a long wait next time you can ask the consultant anything that concerns you and you take take a note book so you are clear on things and he will also give you leaflets you are lucky to get this appointment maybe they had a cancellation but don’t cancel they are not going to do any procedure in that day but just a consultation good luck x
I took it straight away! I meant that I want them to do a lap eventually, I didn’t think they’d do anything tomorrow. I just worry they’ll shrug me off, it’s only my local hospital too which isn’t very big so nervous about how experienced they are
Surgery isn’t a cure, and surgery comes with risks! On top of that, if you do have Endo, surgery can and does in some cases, make it a lot worse!.. My first surgery was major surgery, which left me almost inoperable and now a complicated surgical risk! I have new surgery planned as complications from both Endo and previous surgery put me on deaths door! I have a list as long as my arm about all the potential ways I can die from this surgery!
What’s wrong with trying baseline treatments first? Your point should be to find a way to manage your potential disease and or symptoms! A diagnosis changes nothing! In fact you can be diagnosed without surgery, via scans!
Either way you’re going to have to learn to manage and without surgery, most of the time, because Endo is a chronic disease!
Just to note, my disease managed to get so severe because I had no Endo symptoms! Only had one painful period in my life! I had crippling pain daily from the age of 16-31 at diagnosis! If I’d have suspected Endo, I’d have just treated! And I probably wouldn’t be in the mess I am today!
