I’ve had full hysterectomy and endo removal 3 months ago. I’m still having the tightness down my left side and thigh. My amazing women’s health physio said it will be left over tension in the fascia from years of endo. Has anyone specifically had Myofascial Release therapy to help with leftover endo pain? If feels like I have the Ghost of Endo still haunting me!
I’m doing stretches which helped when I had the endo but it would be nice after a major operation to get rid of anything related once and for all!!

Hi Florrie2, I haven't experienced it, but would be keen to hear from anyone who's had the treatment. I'm waiting to undergo hysterectomy and endometriosis removal myself. The pain is relentless. I'd been reading an excellent book which pointed me towards physiotherapy, and from there I learnt about Myofascial Release. I've an appointment next month to have this, as I want to be in the best possible shape before surgery, and obviously anything that may even slightly reduce the pain between now and then will be a God send.
If you don't mind me asking, are you on HRT? I hope you recover fully and can be pain-free. X
Hi (love the name!)Yes I’m on a combined HRT patch… I’ve posted elsewhere on this one - the doctor and I read all the guidelines and believe this is what I should be on even though all of my endo should have been removed. My highly experienced endo specialist who did the surgery said oestrogen only but the doctor still disagreed.
I’m now also on localised oestrogen due to menopausal dryness 🙁 I wasn’t expecting that one and originally thought it was the vaginal cuff taking a long time to heal.
I’m fine on the patch apart from some hair shedding which I’ve read is difficult to tie down as to which hormone deficiency is causing it.
It’s frustrating still having the back and thigh tension and my stomach is still healing slowly but otherwise I feel loads better and utterly relieved.
Good luck with yours and thanks for the back up on the physiotherapy thoughts.
Ah I'm so glad you're feeling so much better overall, although sorry to hear about the hair loss. The reason I asked about the HRT was that the hormonal implications have been the main reason I've held back from the hysterectomy. I'm now on track with my mental health, but last year experienced crippling anxiety. I've been warned that hysterectomy can cause massive anxiety, and you can see why that's felt too big a risk to take. I've an appointment with the specialist next month to talk it through and if I'm happy I'll be supported well in terms of hormones, I'll be booking in for the surgery.
