Have I made the wrong decision?

I had a lap in 2016 which was negative for Endo. I was diagnosed with IBS. I have since suffered reoccurring large cysts and a great deal of pain. In May 2021 I was hospitalised and advised by two gynae DRs that they believed I did have Endo and that it was missed. I’ve been off work since, can’t drive and struggle to walk far. My life is effectively on hold.

I had my gynae consultation yesterday. She did not discuss possible diagnosis but gave three options. The pill for six months for a break from the pain (not sure this would work given I experienced pain whilst I had the implant in my arm), a HSG test coupled with Tranexamic and Mefenamic Acid, or another lap.

I chose the HSG. I’m now wondering whether I should have just gone for the lap considering wait times and that the HSG (from what I can find) just seems to be helpful for fertility?

Anyone have any experience/advice? or helpful knowledge of the HSG? Xx

hi hun how's u doing today, I'm sorry to hear that ur suffering 🙁 unfortunately I feel ur pain, I've had issues with my periods n been in pain since I was 13 and have been wrongfully diagnosed twice with IBS and PID, they eventually diagnosed me with endometriosis in 2005. I can't work (I've been awarded pip for endometriosis) and struggle to drive, stand & walk for long periods of time 🙁 I've been on every combination of hormonal treatments and pain relief medications u can imagine 😂 (I used to rattle when I walked). I believe that the hormonal treatment escalated my endometriosis and made it grow causing the pain to increase (I now refuse all hormonal treatments) my sister had the implant fitted (she suffers with reoccurring ovarian cysts) and she complained about weight gain, Headaches and mood swings. what is HSG? I'm not sure if I've ever had it? 😂. I have however had both tranexnamic n mafinamic acid and they didn't do anything 🤷 I would still bleed through my clothes 🙁

what symptoms are you currently suffering with? my list is extensive and on my profile 😂.

I’ve just had my first lap today I’ve been so poorly and can barely eat for 9 months I loved food I can’t work anymore I just lye in bed on my side and get up for the odd few hours through the day im in so much pain they’ve cut away we’re my side was attached inside but said it’s not endometriosis won’t agree to operate on me till I take another 4 months of the prostap injection I don’t know how much more I can take of this it’s awful xxx
