Query, do I have endometriosis

Hospitalised 3 times with sickness and diarrhoea with the most horrific pain, 10 days was the longest admission of gastrointestinal ward who referred me to gynaecologist, who is referring me back to gastro. Heavy periods, fainted due to loss and pain. Now on meds for this. Constant pain and discomfort. Diarrhoea stinks. Had colonoscopy, and MRI. 2 tiny fibroids found. This is so debilitating and affecting my life and work. Had 6 weeks off now, going back to work tomorrow but not really well enough though. I need answers because never know when the diarrhoea or sickness will appear. Period time is the worst, also been to A and E with constipation too. Any ideas or advice would be well received

hi hun how's u doing? I'm sorry to hear that ur suffering 🙁 I'm not a doctor but the symptoms you've mentioned do fit endometriosis (look at my profile, see if anything you suffer matches?) I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 05 I've been past from piller to post and misdiagnosed twice IBS & PID. I can completely relate to the pain and how it's effecting your life, I can no longer work and have been awarded Pip for endometriosis. i really hope you get the help u need but if you want to chat plz let me know xxx

Hi sweetie. The gold standard way to diagnose endometriosis is through laproscopic surgery, which is a key hole surgery and not as scary as it sounds. I'm sorry you're struggling so much, your symptoms do sound very much like endometriosis but I'm not medically trained so can't say one way or another, but we sound very alike. Was the gynecologist that you saw a BSGE registered specialist? That can make a very big difference to whether you get good care/treatment or not. To check if they are just Google the consultant and see what they specialise in, or you can do a check of the BSGE register yourself using your postcode. Xxx
