Hi everyone,

Since 2019 I have suffered with pain in my right side every month or so and been admitted to hospital in 2019 and yesterday.

They put it down to being ovulation pain but I am on the pill so I am confused to if I can even ovulate? I feel I have a lot of symptoms of endometriosis and was just wondering how people asked their GPs to explore it more? I’m worried they will just put it off and not do some tests.

Hey sweet! Have you been tracking your cycle so you can see if the pain correlates with your ovulation? That could be super helpful, I get horrid pain when I ovulate, sometimes worse than the period!

My honest advice would be to tell the GP you want a referral to gynecology because you are showing symptoms of endometriosis. There's been a lot of coverage on TV recently, tell them you've seen it on there and it made you look into it further. Sadly the only way to really diagnose is through laproscopic surgery, most scans won't show endo, but they may do them to rule it out. If they say no then just say what's the harm in ruling it out? And if they really won't then try a different GP. You've every right to be seen and you are within your rights to ask for a referral, the GP can't diagnose you so they have to pass you to someone who can. Xxx

Thankyou for replying. Yeah I have been tracking my cycle and it seems it is around my ovulation time I’m just confused due to my pill…

I have an appointment next week I’m just scared they are going to downplay it I’ve seen so many people saying it’s took years to get through it. I think I am worried about the laparoscopy :( xx

It is strange, but it could be down to the hormones going up and down still, as opposed to actual ovulation? Im not sure! I've been off the pill a while now and can't remember what it was like round ovulation.

Yeah I'm quite far into the process, I started going to the GP regularly at around 21 and I'm 30 this year. But had issues from being around 11/12 when my periods began, bouts of time I hospital with no answer to why etc. So I'm sadly one of those people who have taken years to get anywhere, but finding a fantastic specialist was the best thing I did and has sped up the process now. Hoping to have the lap in 3 month 😁 don't be nervous about yours love, it will be all okay and it's not too invasive. Pack some mints for the trapped wind! Xxx

That might be a reason too!
