recto - bottom of the bowelso between the bowel and vagina
How did you find out about your endometriosis inside your cervix? Was this through an MRI or laparoscopy / hysteroscopy? Did your specialist / surgeon write out a diagnosis letter? There could be more information on there we could help you decipher. Cervix problems are usually first identified by a swab and a visible investigation with a speculum, sometimes leading to a mild / local anaesthetic and a camera up the vagina (hysteroscopy).
There will be some information online we could point you to once you've given us a bit more info.
They sent an abnormal swab away to get tested after my laparoscopy.
I then had to go to colposcopy, It came back and she said its more than likely endometriosis.
I have a discharge letter from the op but it has nothing on it, just saying i'm discharged. I later found out over the phone I had endo on my uterosacral ligament and on my bladder.
I complained against the general gynaecologist and now Im waiting to be seen at a BSGE centre x
I had an abnormal swab back from my usual smear (about 3 years ago now) they found it to be cervical ectropion. It's where sensitive cells further up the cervix appear at the base making it look redder, as it's more sensitive it causes stabbing pains and bleeding / spotting during or just after sex. It may be worth a google as my specialist said it's more common than people think and can be treated.
The swab would only show as inconclusive as it's just some dead cells with a few live ones but limited to what they can test. With mine they had to take a sample from the actual cervix (cut a tiny bit of) to send away - sounds like you had that with your colposcopy so you should be able to actually request what it says not what the gynae thinks it is.
I had rectovaginal endo, which was excised. My symptoms before surgery (sorry if tmi) were a heavy feeling in the bottom, varying poos from constipated to runny, a little blood from there sometimes when I wiped and when on my period, stabbing pains like a needle / hot poker going up there. Irritable bowel; it was picky about foods and even the same food on different days, more so during my period.
The endo you had on your uterosacral ligament and bladder could be all the endo you had but if you're still having symptoms about 6 months post endo removal lap then it would be worth pushing for a second opinion with an endo specialist. It's good you're going to be seen at a BSGE center, I hope you get that soon. It'll help as they're a lot more thorough than general gynae; they tend to look at the whole pelvis and inside your uterus, vagina, cervix via a hysteroscopy. They don't ignore you either!
