Ive just joined this forum as im lying in bed in so much pain.. AGAIN!!
ive had painful periods for around 15 years and through the years ive had thr pill, the patch and so many different medications and nothing helps. It gets that bad when im on my period that recent months ive wished i wasnt here anymore rather than go through this pain for the rest of my menstrual life. Although when my periods end i get past thinking like that however i am quite depressed due to it all.
Ive not been diagnosed with endometriosis as my gp wont send me fot any tests and just keeps throwing different meds at me. In fact i was supposed to be going to see a gynaecologist before lockdown last year and since then they wont let me see one because of covid.
Im sorry for the long post i just dont know what else to do. The GP are not helping me

Please Google the NICE guidelines for endometriosis diagnosis & treatment & present them to your doctor. Most doctors don't have the foggiest idea about endo & are stuck in their textbooks from the dark ages. The lucky few of us find one who is willing to admit they don't know as much as they'd like to and are willing to learn.
As you've no doubt discovered, endometriosis can be a solitary & lonely journey of carving out your treatment - but this forum is fantastic for moral support & we're all here for you. Research & arm yourself with information. Keep a pain & symptom diary & have a copy for your GP & whoever you are referred to.
Here's a website where you can find a list of registered endo specialists near you. bsge.org.uk/centre/
Call and speak to the gp all the time. It took me 8 years for someone to listen to me and refer me to gyane due to painful periods. Also write a complaint letter and mine took me seriously after that. Last week I had to go A&E due to severe pain on my right ovary and the next day the gp called saying the doctor wants to talk to me about my A&E visit but that’s appointment isn’t for a month. Just keep bothering them, it is the only way
