Endometriosis and infertility

Hello,

A couple of weeks ago, I needed to have an emergency surgery due to a large ruptured cyst on my left ovary caused by endometriosis. They didn’t remove endometriosis as the procedure I was having was to treat the ruptured cyst.

I was told I have endometriosis on my ovaries and everywhere in that area, uterus, cervix etc. I have not been told about what stage I have but have seen that ruptured cysts can mean stage 4 and this increases infertility. I am due to have a follow up appointment this Friday (12th Feb) and then an internal scan in two weeks before being referred to an endometriosis specialist where I will be seen and my surgery to remove the endometriosis will be scheduled.

I would appreciate any advice on infertility and whether it’s likely I have stage 4 endo. Also whether my gynaecologist will know what stage I have when I speak with them on Friday? Thank you x

Hi Em, is it okay if I send a DM? Hope your appointment went well.

Hello, of course it is. My appointment didn’t go too well, the gynaecologist kind of fobbed me off but I had a call today about a possible surgery date so fingers crossed things start moving and getting sorted!
