Private treatment - endometriosis

Hello, I’m considering going the private route as I have seen a lot of people complain about the waiting time with the NHS. Currently my symptoms are mild and I would like to get it treated as soon as possible as I’ve heard the earlier the better.

Can anyone recommend anywhere please? I’m currently based in London. I don’t mind travelling if necessary as long as it is not too far (within 3 hours preferably).

Hi, I'm currently going the private route (I'm really lucky with my employer and their medical insurance). I'm also based in London and I've had much better experiences with private doctors and specialists unfortunately. I'm currently going through the process with The Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. feel free to send me a message if you would like more details!

Hi, doctors can’t be named here, if you look at the BSGE site this will give hospitals that are registered. If you look up the lead gynaecologist you can research them for a private consultation and find the contact details for the secretary. Once you’ve seen them and they are NHS they can add you to their list. Hope that makes sense. It was the best money I’ve spent seeing a gynaecologist for the first time. I didn’t go through GP for referral, I wanted a totally fresh approach.

Hi

Most of them do, that’s why it gets hard to get appointments with NHS.

Research who you’d like to see, check the local hospital and BSGE site to see if they are listed.

When you see them but find you don’t like them just pass on seeing them again. Trust your instincts.

Just because they are BSGE doesn’t mean they follow the guidelines, I’ve found out this recently. Not all Endo experts will be registered as BSGE either.

Not what you're looking for?
