Has anyone ever contacted a specialist to look at MRI pictures or surgery pictures?
How do I go about it?

Hi hope your well as you can be,
So I went private and urged for a second opinion as it just didn’t settle with me with what my hospital were saying, and the private doctor suggested that I should get referred through Nhs to an endometriosis Specialist which I did through BSGE and they took another look at my scan images and took it from there.
Hope this helps x
You can ask your doc to refer you to another BSGE endometriosis centre at another hospital. You would need to request the pictures as not all hospitals can see each others files. Unless its marked as an urgent referral the wait may be 5 months. I was referred for a second opinion in August this year and my appt is 7th December. The GP must mark it as a second opinion request otherwise you will drop off the list of the first hospital. Its wise for them to attach any relevant reports to the referral. Once you've seen both consultants you need to decide who you prefer and just stay on one list.
The other option is ask your GP to refer you to the specialist of your choice privately. You'd need to ask the hospital to send the images to you or directly to your preferred consultant so they can see them. The data protection team at the hospital your scans/op was performed should be able to do that. Normally there's a form to fill out
Hope that helps
Thank you I am currently under a BSGE specialist but I just feel as tho his not listening to me 😕
Hi there,
I did it. I did research on endo specialists in my area and made an appointment. Took all the stuff with me and showed him. I was lucky that my Dr was very caring, I sat in his office bawling while I told him about my pain and the suffering. He agreed that we should get it out ASAP and he did.
Best of luck
