Are endometriosis surgeries still being classed as non essential surgeries? Also, how safe is it to be on prostap and zoldex for?

I’m in Grampian Scotland and it’s still considered non essential. I believe they are starting slowly back with the ones that were cancelled and classed as ‘urgent’. But it’s very slow and case by case. That’s my understanding any way.
Hi, I really do think it all depends on what area you are in, as at the moment it seems different areas are taking different approaches, I had a appointment on Tuesday following an MRI I had and was booked for surgery Wednesday. Fingers crossed you don’t have to wait too long x
Not sure re non essential surgery but from what I remember prostap is only safe for 6 months. FYI I had a prostap injection after my op which lasted for 3 months.
Hi Vanex018,
Yes classed as non essential, but as others say they are starting in some areas.
As for Prostap, I have been on it since December. It's classes as off licence if you take it for more than 6 months and you have to take HRT, I didn't take it until I hit 6 months. I have read on here that some people have been on them for years because they have really felt the benefits, but you should be monitored to make sure it's not causing other issues.
I am in Scotland and had my pre assessment about 3 weeks ago. Told it will be within 3 months I will have surgery.
This wouldn’t have happened if my GP hadn’t written to gynaecology as I am suffering really bad x
I am in Northern Ireland and have been told that routines will more than likely be next year even though I have been on the list since August 2018 and cancelled once already. So nothing is happening over here 🤦🏻♀️
