Endo on US ligaments

Hi,

I was diagnosed in January with endo on both my US ligaments, which unfortunately couldn't be removed during surgery. I'm now having discussions about potentially having a second surgery to get rid of this. Was just wondering if anyone else has had endo on their US ligaments excised, and whether it has improved their pain?

I am nervous to go through the risks of having it done if it does little for my pain.

Thanks,

I had endo excised from US ligaments in feb this year......they also found endo on my bowel I'm waiting to have another op to deal with this At the moment I don't have any relief from my symptoms but that's probably due to bowels being affected.

I'm sorry to hear that, I'm hoping because mine only seems to be on ligaments I might get some relief from surgery, but guess its so hard to say and I'm not sure I was even checked over properly in the first place. Hope you find some relief, and hope your next surgery goes well XX

Hi where do you get the pain with the endo on these ligaments?

Hello.

Yes I have stage 4 and US ligaments and bowel were obliterated by disease. I did get relief but sadly not for long and just had mri scan which confirmed it has returned already.

Best wishes to you xxx

Sorry to hear that, I really hope they find a solution for you soon. I feel fortunate that what they saw in the first lap was only mild and only on US ligaments so hoping surgery could be a relatively easy fix to the pain, but guess you never know with this condition.

All the best to you too XX

Aw thank you.

Ah hopefully it will work successfully for you, and definitely worth the surgery for the relief in pain.

Hey, how did they diagnose this?

Sorry, I don’t have any advice- I think I have the same but my gynae has said it’s not. I had an MRI that showed adhesions around and fibrosis in the ligaments, but drs are saying it can’t be endo and won’t do surgery!

They diagnosed me through a laparoscopy in Jan, I'd had nothing show up on scans before that. Would definitely keep pushing for a lap, my gynae was so adamant there was nothing wrong with me and wouldn't do the surgery, but then i saw someone else and they put me through my pre-op the same day XX

Hi,

In terms of pain relief from surgery everyone is different however whilst you have active endo still on the ligaments this is known and likely to cause more pain and also is likely to spread. This is the reason any good gynae experienced in endo should want to remove it.

I would make sure you see a bsge listed surgeon for your next op as it sounds like the previous one you saw may not have been with having left the endo.

Good luck.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking. Back at the point where no painkillers are touching the pain again and its put me back in A&E over the weekend. Having such bad stomach issues from the painkillers they don't know what to give me and feel like the only way to feel better even temporarily is if they remove it for now. The last surgeons that did my op were only general gynae, which is why the endo was left. According to them what they saw was only mild, and only on these ligaments, so hoping a second surgery should be relatively simple and hopefully an easier fix in terms of getting some pain relief.

Thanks for your response XX

Thats rubbish that its that bad. But it sounds like you do need another by an experienced endo consultant. I think its your best option to have pain relief.

Good luck. Xxx
