Endo and nerve damage?: Hello I've been... - Endometriosis UK
Endo and nerve damage?
If in doubt, go to A&E or try calling 111. However I will say I have had foot pain - and I am told this is because of a cyst resting on a nerve and referring pain downwards. Hope that helps.
Endometriosis caused me all sorts of chaos, including a DVT after having ovarian torsion. I had intense abdominal pain, with an overnight hospital stay and developed DVT several days later. Began with a Tingling/numb feeling in my calf (toes not affected). If in doubt please get checked out, better safe than sorry.
Hello.
I have the same but in my left.
I had my left ovary and both tubes removed 18 months ago and ever since I’ve had constant pain in left abdomen, groin and intermittently down my left leg and into my toes.
It’s very unpleasant.
Do you take any nerve medication? I’m currently on pregabalin I thought it had helped a little initially but now it seems to have stopped.
I was sent to a&e by my GP in December and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. A&e sent me to the surgical ward which I had to return to on 5 separate days to sit and wait all day long to have the odd scan and a sigmoidoscopy (which was absolute agony).
They totally ignored me constantly saying how badly I have endometriosis.
However this hopefully isn’t the case for everyone. If the pain is severe I would certainly give 111 a call for their opinion.
Since then I’ve seen my specialist privately who advised an element of my pain will be nerve damage as I’ve had extensive surgery.
He also said endometriosis tissue pressing or growing into nerves will cause pain too.
Sorry I’ve waffled on!
I hope you get the treatment you need and deserve.
Best wishes to you xxx
