I don’t know if I should post this or not but I had heavy periods and a lot of pain until I was put on the depo injection at 16 and I’m not 19 I was on it for just about three years but now I’m starting to get cramps Like as if I’m starting my period and nothing happens. I feel heavy on my lower back and pelvic when I sit up or lie down it’s Liek there’s a pressure and I get aches and pains on my lower tummy... and sometimes I have pains when I have sex but I’m scared as I don’t know what to do about this

Sorry you’re having so much pain and discomfort.

If you are still under a gynaecologist ask for an appointment or speak to GP about referral. Best to take someone with you.

Were you originally diagnosed with Endometriosis?

I wasn’t ever diagnosed with endometriosis but my periods were so horrible and I had severe cramps a lot of the time and I had heavy periods but I thought it was normal and now I’m just scared of what it could be but I’m ringing up as soon as my surgery is open for an appointment to check what’s going on with me x

Write down your symptoms so you don’t forget anything and take a look at the NICE guidelines. It’s not necessarily endo, don’t make any assumptions or get too worried at this stage, just be prepared.

It’s so easy to get worried, most have been there at one time or another.

Let us know how you get on.

It may not be Endo but maybe another related Gyae problem. If at this stage you do not wish to speak to your GP have a 'chat' to the advisors at Endometriosis UK, it may give you confidence to approach your GP with more relevant questions. 👌

Hi honey. Put up a fight for the tests. They’ll probably go through scans, blood tests etc before going in for the surgery but if you have to fight then fight. Because in the long run it’s worth it to know what you’re dealing with. Before being diagnosed I only had bad pains & heavy irregular periods. Obviously there’s all sorts that it COULD be but if you’re wanting to find out if it’s endo, you’ll need to push for the relevant tests. Have a look online for endometriosis specialists around your area. Hope you start to feel better soon xx

Whenever in doubt-check it out.

Its your body and you must look after it and fight for it if needs be.

Never feel bad about asking for advice or help or seeking opinions, even 2nd opinions.

I wasted too much of my life thinking it was my fault that I was suffering the way I was, and that it was "normal".

If your body doesnt feel right then its telling you something, find out what.

We are here to support you wheither its endo or not.

Good luck.

Keep strong x
