Hi everyone. I know I am not asking a doctor however just to get a bit of an idea. I recently have started getting very painful periods- a few years after I got my first one. They respond well to paracetamol however if I don’t take this, the first day of my period is VERY VERY painful. I feel slightly helpless in the recent situation. Does this seem as though it points to an underlying condition like endometriosis? The pain seems to go after just one day but that one day is agony.

In hindsight from experience, I’d say speak to your doctor, keep a diary of symptoms as well.

Not sure how old you are, have you discussed with mum or someone else? You could take someone with you as well.

I used to just deal with period pains for too many years and should really have sorted so much earlier, having had an unexpected diagnosis of endo in various places confirmed in Feb. Yet to discover full extent.

Don’t be put off by any stupid comments that a doctor may make (I was) If you’ve seen a GP in the past that you think will listen and get on with I’d suggest you see them, it can make a difference.

There could be other conditions causing the pain, best to find out.

Take care.
