I’ve got endometriosis and have the mirena coil, I had the injections for 6 months, which put me through the start of the menopause, they then gave me hrt to stop it, I’ve been discharged from specialist and she told me now I’ve had the injections it’s gone. But endo don’t go. I’ve been begging for a Histerectomy, but they won’t as I’m only 36, I don’t want anymore children and if I fell pregnant it could paralyse me, so can’t understand why they won’t just take it all away, sorry for the long post but only just found this site been suffering in silence till now xx
Feel lost: I’ve got endometriosis and have... - Endometriosis UK
Feel lost
Morning, I'm also trying for a hysterectomy and also have the coil in. I have an appointment with a specialist for a 2nd opinion tomorrow. I'm 45. I will let you know how it goes. I regularly feel lost and that I have no control over my own body x
You poor thing, it sounds like you’re really going though the wars ❤️❤️❤️
I don’t understand how Lena Dunham has a hysterectomy when she was so young but people in rbis country don’t seem to be allowed one until they’re significantly older?!
Aww I understand as I’ve gone through all of the stages you have above... just been taken off the injections as they are not working for me and still causing heavy bleeding... now waiting on mri test results for a decision.
I know my consultant told me that they don’t like to operate too young as a hysterectomy at a young age can cause medical complications later on in life... I’m 42 and they are saying it would be a last resort but I can’t cope with much more my life is not my own.
I would strongly advise you to get a second opinion... I’m on the third specialist as the other two didn’t take my symptoms seriously and I had to fight to be referred and it was the best thing I did as this new specialist has found things that neither of the others have and seems to want to help and understand that i can’t go on putting my life on hold.
Good luck, I hope you can get a second opinion x
