Hi, I’ve been diagnosed with IBS and interstitial cystitis over the last few years but still have suffered with excruciating pain on my right side. I’ve had cysts in the past and a family history of endometriosis. But the gp is refusing to refer me to a specialist or even a gynaecologist. Anyone else had this experience ? 😭

Hello. I find that my endo causes me to urinate a lot and can be painful as it grew close to my bladder.
I would definitely ask to be referred abd examined. Maybe go back and ask for another Dr? GPs often have their own specialist areas. You may have one that has a bit of gynae knowledge so you could try and see them?
Hope you feel better soon
Sorry, forgot to add, I also suffer from bowel problems. I saw a gastroenterologist, urologist, dietician and neurologist (they thought my bowel problem could me migraine)
It all turned out to be endometriosis.

I read that a large percentage of people who have endo also have interstitial cystitis. I’d print off symptom checklist thing from endometriosis website and take it to GP xx
